Pullet: Cuckoo Bluebar, Shipping Week of 03/24/2026
Exclusively ours! Want to have the most unique chicken in town? Cuckoo Bluebars are just the ticket. This beautiful designer breed is a super-prolific layer of large, light blue eggs. Its plumage is a beautiful barred blue, rather than the more common barred black plumage, with darker hackle feathers. On the hen the barring can be more subtle, but on the rooster it's just spectacular.
Cuckoo Bluebars are friendly and smart. They tolerate confinement but love to forage and love to lay their eggs outdoors. We've been surprised by customer reports of their personalities, too. Although the breeds that went into this cross tend to be flighty, active and avoidant, nearly every reviewer has attested to their docility and friendliness! Go figure.
This variety is a custom cross, bred exclusively for My Pet Chicken. On average, 15/16 pullets will lay light blue eggs when they mature. Because these are first-generation crosses (F1), statistically, 1 out of 16 birds will not lay blue eggs.
